My 6 Over 6 Project

Great news, fans! I have a new book coming out, and I think you’re going to love it!

Bindings is a ghost novel about a Filipino woman dealing with the loss of her family, who decides to go off the grid with a group of like-minded friends, only to find that their chosen island retreat is haunted. It’s chock full of ghost sightings, creepy campfire stories, Filipino lore, and spooky family history. If you like ghost stories, you won’t want to miss this one!

But first…

Having been away from the self-publishing business for a while, I was having a bit of anxiety about diving back in. When I published the “Deathsworn” novels, I remember doing hundreds of hours of research and promotion. And for Bindings, I really want the full package: Ebooks in all the major stores, plus a hard cover option with a book jacket and sprayed edges; an audio book and a beautiful custom cover and collateral printed swag like bookmarks. I want marketing and advertising and book funnels!

Me three months ago: I don’t know how to do any of that. Anything I once knew is probably out of date.

This gave me the the idea of publishing one short story per month for six months. This project has three goals:

  1. Learn about “going wide” through practice.
  2. Gain proficiency with formatting, keyword research, and promotion for my digital books, and of course,
  3. Share my stories with interested readers.

With the publication of “The Swing Guy,” it’s three down and three to go!

Let me know what you think about the idea, including direct feedback on the stories themselves, at chris.africa@gmail.com.
